Poetry (1 of 2):

Can You Take Me Home Again?

Can you take me home again
To the place where I was born
In the mountains I have known
With fields of golden corn
Where the sunflower seeds are sown
There the grass pokes through my toes
The new mown hay smells sweet
The refreshing cool wind blows
Away the summer's heat
While the bud becomes a rose
The autumn colors paint the sky
The pumpkin grows so round
The geese and ducks have miles to fly
Brown leaves curl on the ground
And the beaver's dam grows high
Winter's cold grips the earth
All is still and white
Crackling fire fills the hearth
As day gives way to night
And patient seeds await their birth
Family love abided there
Giving a comfort to my soul
The warm embrace that said "I care"
Made my world secure and whole
In a moment that all could share
The ember still glows inside me
While time creates the past
And the real eye can no longer see
The theater and the cast
As the river flows eternally
Can you take me home again
And let me stay a while
So I can be with them
To share a tear drop and a smile

Wal-mart aisle lady
Walking forward looks at shelf:
Shopping cart has eyes

Small dog is baby
Mother feeling affection:
No need for a man

Tasting chocolate
Thought and sense cannot wander:
No other moment

Each Other

Who are you?
Who am I?
Should we be honest
Or should we lie?
If I show myself,
Can I rely
That you won't see me
Through a judging eye?
Will your response
Be in kind?
Will we each have knowledge
Of the other's mind?
Are the words I speak
Crystal clear?
Or is there a filter
Between lips and ear?
Who will be first to
Take a chance
As we begin
Our verbal dance

Together,
As we'll always be,
I have no choice but
To trust you with me
